Accessibility statement for the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care System website

From concept to final development, we have taken every step to ensure that this website is as accessible and easy to use as possible.

You should be able to:

  • Change colours, contrast levels and fonts via accessibility toolbar (located at the bottom of screen)
  • Zoom in up to 200% without the text spilling off the screen  (located at the bottom of screen)
  • Navigate most of the website using speech recognition software  
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver, as well as our Browsealoud embed)
  • We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand and we continue to work on this by listening to your feedback

Compliance status 

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the the non-compliances and exemptions listed below.

Web standards and technologies

This website has been built to comply with W3C standards for HTML and CSS - these web technologies are relied upon throughout the site.

The site displays correctly in all popular web browsers and should be able to adapt fluidly when used with older browsers.

This website uses JavaScript but this technology is not relied upon. The website works perfectly well without it. Where JavaScript has been used, it meets the same high levels of accessibility as the rest of the site.

Viewing as 'High Contrast'

To view all of the pages in high contrast mode, go to to the accessibility toolbar at very bottom of the page and within the 'Contrast' toggle , select the white circle with black dot icon. This will present all pages in black and white in highly visible text. There are other choices with similar effects in the same menu.

Please note: To return to normal viewing of pages you must click again on the same button again or the 'reset' arrow icon in the same toolbar menu. 

Increasing the font size

To increase the font size, go to the accessibility toolbar and find the options for 'Text size'. You can then choose to increase or decrease the text size - see the icons '+' or '-'. You can also reset it if you want to restore the default text size.

Alternatively, you can do this in your browser:

  • Internet Explorer: choose the drop down menu at the top of the window of the browser marked 'View'. A list of options will appear in the drop down menu - choose 'Text Size' and select your preference
  • Firefox: choose the drop down menu at the top of the window of the browser marked 'View'. A list of options will appear in the drop down menu - choose 'Zoom' and then 'Zoom In'
  • Google Chrome

You can also do this via the 'Ctrl' and '+' or '-' keys on your keyboard as appropriate.

Access Keys

Our website does not offer any access keys to avoid any interference with Screen reader technologies. Screen readers already include keyboards shortcuts and disabled users can find keyboard shortcuts an additional and unnecessary burden.
